Many times we have found ourselves searching bibliography for our university projects, looking for information about products from abroad that we want to purchase, or perhaps responding an e-mail from a work collegue who lives abroad. In all of these cases, many times you find texts that are written in other language that is not your native language. This turns really complicated if you have a very basic level of this language and you need to find how to communicate accurately what you want to express.

Fortunately, those of us who live in the age of the Internet have several pages or applications that we can find online and that will facilitate the translation of various texts, without the need to move from the computer. Among the best known we have:

  1. GOOGLE TRANSLATOR

Without a doubt, the most widely used free online translator worldwide. Many of us will remember the sometimes “absurd” translations that I created a few years ago; however, the Google tool has been greatly improved in recent times. Instantly translates words, phrases and web pages to more than 100 languages, also offers the pronunciation of the searched word and word options when entering the first syllables.

  1. BING TRANSLATOR

Online translator that integrates seamlessly with Microsoft applications, including Skype or Word. It has the Microsoft Translator desktop program, which, installed on Windows computers, allows group conversations between people who speak different languages: any word that is said or written in one language is shown to the rest of the participants in their native language, automatically translated.

  1. BABYLON

This online translator stands out for the possibility of downloading translation software in 77 languages to the device. It works both online and offline and has been designed with OCR technology, it means that it has an optical character recognition system that allows you to identify texts in scanned documents or PDF files and translate them automatically. In addition to the online translator, it offers the possibility that the translation of texts is done by a professional translator for a certain cost, for those who want a more professional service.

  1. LEXICOOL

This online translator uses the functions of Google, Microsoft, Yandex, Reverso and Systran to translate texts with any of them. When translating a text, a new tab will open with the text created by each of these free online translators, which allows you to compare the different options and choose the most appropriate one. This translator includes multi-language dictionaries. It also provides information on translation courses among other interesting topics.

  1. WORLDLINGO

This online translator allows you to translate texts in three different ways: 1) by pasting a text directly into the corresponding space; 2) uploading a document with a maximum of 500 words from the computer itself, with the possibility of being able to indicate what the topic is (science, mathematics or law, among many others); or from an email.
